First is the observation that this is an American thing. Americans just don't know how to speak English. I never heard anybody in England getting these things wrong when I was growing up. Not one person, not even once, no matter how young or old they were. Second is the one phrase that's not in this list but really should be. The proof of the pudding thing. The correct saying is "the proof of the pudding is in the eating". If anybody needs it explained, I will, but it should be obvious. |
