They have come closer than you know. In Nam, we often used these for transportation when on liberty in places like Saigon or Da Nang: These were motorized and called Cyclos. There were also man-powered versions called Pedicabs: These were often called Cyclo-Pedicabs, which is awfully close to Cyclo-Pedias. |

| When you go somewhere within your own country for vacation, you are said to be "vacationing in-country."
If you're in Europe, and vacation somewhere else in the EU, are you remaining "in-continent"? |

| Howard can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you were in-country in Vietnam, you weren't on vacation. |

| Right you are, Richard; not a vacation.
But - if I may get a bit pedantic - we should define "in-country." I spent most of two and a half years there and I never used the term "in-country" to refer to the entire country of Viet Nam. We earlier visitors often used the phrase "Indian country" to refer to quite unpleasant areas of the country; it was sometimes abbreviated to "In country". It wasn't until some time after I had returned that I began hearing the term "in-country" commonly used to refer to the country of Viet Nam on news broadcasts (about the time that Viet Nam turned into Vietnam, probably). |

| But they very well could be used as opposites. As in: "Mr. Jones, this preventative surgery will definitely deter an untimely interment"
Or something.
