Many new directors make short films as calling cards, but have trouble getting them seen. Some genius started a channel on YouTube called Omeleto to showcase these short (8-20 min.) films by unknown or new directors.
I don't know how many there are. Dozens.
All different styles and genres, from all over the world.
Of the half dozen I've seen, all were staggeringly good.
"Feeling Through" - a homeless black man stumbles across a deaf and blind white man, and realizes his own problems are nothing
"Reception" - two strangers meet at a wedding, and realize they have a lot in common
"Exit Strategy" - a man trapped in a time loop tries to prevent his brother's death -- over and over
"Lazy Boy" - a man buys a time-traveling recliner at a garage sale. It proves more trouble than he anticipated
"I'm You, Dickhead" - A man travels back in time to force his younger self to learn guitar and get more girls
one other I can't find about a space traveler looking for a better Earth

Watched another half dozen last night. Was not disappointed.
Really intelligent, really clever filmmaking. Restores one's faith damaged by vapid TV and insipid blockbuster movies.
