College professor and virtual reality researcher Randy Pausch was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer in 2007. He delivered a lecture at Carnegie Mellon, where he taught, about "How to fulfill your childhood dreams." It's inspirational and funny and sad all at once, because not only is it a summation of his life, and a farewell to his colleagues, but it was videotaped for his three young children because they are too young to remember much about him. It's meant for them to get to know their dad when they're a little older.
He died in July 2008.
A few tears, some laughs, good balm for an aching soul.
