- Hillary Swank plays the commander of the first spaceship to Mars. Her family back on Earth has to learn to deal without her.
- The acting is uniformly good. The science is uniformly bad.
- The producers can’t decide if the spaceship is weightless in space or not. One shot will show the astronauts floating around in air, the very next shot shows them sitting around a table drinking from mugs.
- The inside of the spacecraft is the size of a large studio set.
- There is cellphone coverage in space (on a standard iPhone) with no delay.
- Every episode has “a problem” to fix with ingenuity and determination. By the next episode last episode's problem is all forgotten.
- The astronauts come from all different nations and fit standard Hollywood stereotypes.
- Because of the good acting, and some pretty good scripts, this thing is actually quite moving in spots. But the science doesn't get any better. One, just ONE scientist should have reviewed the script... A mathematician, a geologist, a person who studies bugs -- ANYBODY with a scientific mind.
