Voting Age Empty

Everyone talks about lowering the voting age to 18 or 16, which makes sense because young people are the ones who will live with the results of an election.

For the same reason, maybe anybody over 65 or 70 should be disallowed from voting?

I'm not dead yet. I'll have to live with the results of the election too.

This country is a bit backward about young adults. YA fiction is aimed at 14 year olds, but a lot of people seem to think you don't grow up until age 25 or something. Make 18 the age for pretty much everything - drinking, voting, sex, whatever - and bring up your children accordingly. Then everybody would know where they stand.
