Please don’t do this with a Cybertruck. Other vehicles have sensors that recognize something foreign like a human finger is in the way and doesn’t actively try to harm you. It’s not worth losing a digit while proving you’re worthy of the Musk cult. But if you do decide this is how you’d like to prove your worth, make sure you upload it to YouTube so the world can see what a dumbass you are.

The Cybertruck’s owners manual does caution against ever washing the truck in direct sunlight, and there is a section expressly mentioning that the truck has to be switched into “Car Wash Mode” before washing to avoid damage to parts of the vehicle.
Originally, back when the sports car was the only Tesla out there, Musk had said that the high-priced models were necessary to fund the research and get the charging infrastructure in place. Once those were done, he said, profitability would come with mass-marketing a $25,000 car.

He also said the vans hadn't had all their bugs worked out yet. In particular, he said the transmissions were self-destructing at a rather alarming rate. As he pulled away, the sound of metal grinding against metal was unmistakable.

Saw my first Cybertruck in the flesh today, at the Y. The driver said he picked it up last week and is very impressed with it, "despite its aggressively weird styling."
It looked too big to fit in my garage. The tyres are HUGE.

A truck for the Trump-era. Logic and reason are bad, unsupported opinions are good, and your facts don't matter because my mind is already made up.

Towing with a Cybertruck costs more per mile than with a diesel. And you only get 85 miles between charges. And each charge takes an hour and 25 minutes. Drive for an hour and 12 minutes (85 miles @ 70mph), recharge for an hour 25.

Some EVs can be plugged into a standard 120v AC wall outlet, but charging from such a low-wattage source takes FOREVER.

When I finally plugged the Hyundai Ioniq 6 into a 120V outlet outside of my home, the battery level was 36% with an estimated range of 135 miles. Fast forward 14 hours and 33 minutes later, I proceeded to get into the Ioniq 6 only to realize it managed to get to just 42% overnight — roughly giving it a range of 162 miles. This tacked on an estimated 27 additional miles from where it started the previous night.

The most important carmaker in the world right now is the Chinese-owned, Warren Buffett-backed company that has Elon Musk in a pickle. BYD, a carmaker Musk once laughed at, overtook Tesla at the end of last year as the top seller of electric vehicles on the planet (Tesla overtook it in the first quarter of this year, but they’re neck and neck). And now it’s giving Toyota a run for its money, unveiling a new hybrid powertrain that BYD says is capable of taking you from New York to Miami without refueling.
As opposed to 85 miles....

What's the end game of this scenario? Tesla drastically cuts prices? The new Biden administration offers huge incentives? They become shelter for the homeless? One of them catches fire, and they all go up?

Tesla is recalling its futuristic new Cybertruck pickup for the fourth time in the U.S. to fix problems with trim pieces that can come loose and front windshield wipers that can fail.
Tesla has recalled the stainless steel-clad Cybertruck four times since it went on sale Nov. 30.
The new recalls, announced in documents posted Tuesday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, each affect more than 11,000 trucks.
