| A Lemon Drop made with Russian Standard.
I had actually gone sober in solidarity with a friend for a while because cocktails and the sugar in them was kicking my ass. I don't have an alcohol issue I have a sugar issue. This is the first I've had in a while. I like it. It's one of the liquors Ben got me for Christmas and I've left it because I so liked the bottle- which seems to be in Russian. It's a really great vodka though. |

| Belhaven Scottish Ale. From a 300-year-old brewery in Dunbar, Scotland. Really rich, with a nutty, malty taste. And, oddly, almost no aftertaste. Yummy!

| Angry Orchard Crisp Apple It's fucking good too.
I need some recommendations though, fellas. I have a zebra worthy party Saturday and my bar is distinctly girly. I need some good recommendations on whiskey, scotch, rye something maybe, idk. I want the men to feel as comfy as the women. It's just that until now I've stocked the bar for women because that's who's been over here. I have like Amaretto and makings for daiquiris and cosmos. Halp! |

There's a band called LMFAO that does a lot of party music. I personally love their songs, but the deal is it's sort of become a thing (from their videos) that you have an inflatable zebra or something at your party. All the youngsters are doing it! lol Last time around when our neighbors had one we really wanted to toss a zebra over and didn't have one. So we ordered one. The actual one from the videos, because I'm slick like that. Now we just need a coconut bra for it and some Mardi Gras beads. So a zebra worthy party is like a large house party where there may be drunk people passed out on your lawn afterwards. |

Pretty good choice, I'd say. With lots of ice. |

It's fucking good too. I'll have to see if I can find that. I do like good hard cider. Right now my favorite is Crispin. - Jenni wrote:

Okay, you're looking for "manly" drinks? There are only a few rules. 1. Color: brown or clear. 2. Drink Name: same as the liquor, with the exception that "booze" or "whiskey" are acceptable. 3. Preparation: Pour the booze into a glass. Ice cube is optional. 4. Tiny umbrellas: NO. NO. NO. A thousand times NO. That's it.

That's it. Edit: the glass is optional. A Mason jar is preferred. |

That depends of the number of guests per bottle. - NoCoPilot wrote:

Mason jars are only acceptable if you made your own liquor. To use them otherwise is pretentious. |

| If half your guests go blind by party's end, you succeeded. |

For some reason Lisa I always pictured you with long hair. Did you used to have long hair? Oh, I've always known yours was you. Yeah, you're probably thinking about my high school picture I used as an avatar once. But it's really wavy too, and I hate straightening it in summer with the hot hair dryer. So for the past few years it's been wash'n go. |

That's it. I had a Crispin the other day from the new Whole Foods. OMG that place is pretentious! But I digress..... The Angry Orchard definitely has a more 'slap you in the face with apple' flavor than the Crispin. Crispin is way more subtle. I have a green rye-based Kasira made and sent to me. It's a green batch but it's damn good for a green batch. All have liked it. And I know the standard Glenlivet and I know Kessler is a nice smooth one. But short of the standard JD I'm unsure what to invest in. I'd like to have one more moderately priced and one more spectacular one. And I will have you know I have never put an umbrella in a drink! I garnish with a fruit or olive according to request or the drink. Good god man, what sort of person so you think I am!? |

| The bourbon I like best is Woodford Reserve, but it's not cheap. About $45 a bottle, the last time I looked. |
