| "Rotor cap"? You mean distributor cap. Could be a number of things. Could be the coil, and often the high voltage wire from the coil to the distributor cap can cause such a problem. Or the spark plug wires could have been shit. If the distributor cap wasn't secure, it could allow moisture to get on the points, or possibly shorting the capacitor. Too late to find out anyway.

| Quite often, none of those are "on top" of the engine. I've had many cars where none of them were.

| Obviously, I'm a Chrysler gal. 76 charger, mine was flat brown. 76 Aspen four door, mine was tan. That bitch was stout too. All heavy duty parts, she could go off road. She also had electrical issues from all the rigging so when you turned right the horn blew slightly. Fucked me up sneaking in my boyfriend's late at night, lol. Mostly. |
