I had a good friend who was a Magyar - that's where I learned the word - and he was very placid most of the time. His family came over here when they got tired of throwing stones at Russian tanks in the fifties. When I met him, and spent a couple of months living with him and his wife, he was finishing up his doctorate in Albuquerque. Today, he is director of an organization devoted to saving the environment, especially wild lands. Through him, I met a world-famous economist (I just remember him as Uncle Paul) and Hugh Romney (now Wavy Gravy). Magyars can be very good people, not at all prone to being pissed off.

This one is kinda scary.  I'd heard about this before, but am surprised I was targeted:

I thought Apple computers were immune to such intrusions.

That's why I'm not worried.  I'm 99.5% certain he's bluffing.  To my knowledge, you can't do ANY of that shit -- remote camera activation, spyware that tracks websites, contact list harvesting -- on a Mac.

The 0.5% comes from my very rare use of Safari as a browser. It's shit for security. But a few websites won't talk to Firefox. But even then, I'm pretty certain he's bluffing.

And I have no family or co-workers (or social media!) to embarrass me in front of.
