It is, however, illegal for any commercial venture to make this change for you, thanks to the lobbying power of the energy sector.
I guess I need to research fueling station options in my area.

There are differences in the fuel systems in E85 cars. Besides the computer, the fuels tank, lines, injectors, sensors are all different from what is found is gasoline-only cars. Those kits are shit.

Searching the web:
I can find no reference to it being illegal for a business to make an ethanol conversion. Doesn't mean it's not true, just that I can't find anything about it.
the web wrote:
The majority of people who own flex fuel cars (those can can run on either gasoline or E85 ethanol/gas) are not aware that their cars can use E85 and they run only gasoline.
Nearly all of the gasoline sold in the U.S. is 5-10% ethanol.
E85 fuel is 51-83% ethanol.
There are a bunch of places that sell so-called conversion kits.
Fuel mileage with E85 is up to 30% less than with gasoline.
There is no place to buy E85 in Seattle. Most of the outlets are in the Midwest.

It's a Sign of The End Times!
Revelation 13:17 ...'And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name, or cup holders in his chariot.'
