| Saw this one promoted somewhere, it's stories about conspiracy theories, spoofs, pranks, weird science. general credulity in the American public. First one I listened to was about SINA, the Society for Indecency in Naked Animals. It was a 1959-1963 spoof morality organization created by Alan Abel & Buck Henry, to put pants on dogs and cats and horses and sheep and cows. I knew a little bit about it already but I still learned a lot. Next one I started was about snuff films, which were a big subject of controversy in the early 1970s but none was ever actually found to exist. I had to bail before it was over. You see, the host, Chelsey Weber-Smith, has the most annoying speaking voice ever. She? gives? a rising inflection? to every? word? she? speaks? like they're? a question? After a while if goes from being annoying to being totally infuriating. |
