Reporting churches for political campaigning Empty
PostSubject: Reporting churches for political campaigning   Reporting churches for political campaigning EmptySat Sep 03, 2022 8:44 am

I just posted this to Facebook.

I'm not on Twitter or TikTok, but word gets around anyway. There's a tweet by "No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen" that looks like:

>>A pastor in Tennessee just said his church is no longer tax-exempt after TikTok users submitted complaints to the IRS because he went on a rabid rant at his church saying Democrats can't be Christian and yelled "you ain't seen an insurrection yet!"<<

I don't know if that's actually true. But it certainly is true that if you happen to visit a church and hear politics being preached, you can report the church to the IRS using form 13909, and there is also a form 211 which can be used to claim a whistleblower reward.

(I recommend using your phone to record the preacher, in case someone asks for proof.)
(On form 13909, boxes 3-5 are appropriate for that pastor, but you can choose whichever you think best.)
