Book: Shit Cassandra Saw

A brand new collection (2022) of Feminist short stories, all of them (so far) pretty radical.  The author Gwen Kirby is a firecracker writer.

The one I just finished is about an intramural girl's baseball game, where the favored team is a little hesitant to play their best baseball because the opposing team recently had a fatal shooting at their school (details unmentioned).  Sign of the times.

Or a woman relating her trying to get pregnant, comparing it to her husband ordering a pizza, a pizza with toppings she doesn't like but will eat anyway because it's the thing to do, even though they can't qualify for a home loan and her husband picks his nose.

The 21 stories were published over a period of four years (2015-2019) is a variety of tiny literary magazines or compendiums. They vary wildly in technique, style, and frankly quality.
