- A couple weeks ago, I told you about a new Netflix docuseries that looks at my work and my life. That series—which is called Inside Bill’s Brain—is now available everywhere on Netflix. I hope you enjoy watching it.
To celebrate the release of the series, I wanted to do something special for Gates Notes Insiders like you. The director Davis Guggenheim and his team did an impressive job covering a lot of material in less than three hours. A lot had to be left on the cutting room floor, though, and I thought you might enjoy hearing some of the stories that didn’t make it, ones that I think complement what you’ll see on Netflix. REALLY good 3-part documentary on Bill Gates: his history, his motivations, his achievements and his failures. The editing style moves back and forth in time, trying to create threads across different times and projects and it can sometimes get a little confusing when they show Microsoft's 1986 product line alongside the Bill & Melinda Gates polio eradication effort. But it was very fair, very detailed, and very informative. Lots of "I didn't know that!" moments. Bill admits he wasn't an easy boss to work for, and Melinda admits Bill's brain is utter chaos. |
