And yet, there's a grain of truth in their fears.
Whites ARE on the road to becoming a minority in the USA. Multiculturalism is becoming the accepted norm, it is no longer acceptable to be a toothless sister-marrying Southern Baptist racist. When millions of immigrants come into the country, they bring some of their culture with them, so you see Mexican restaurants and Spanish-language TV stations everywhere. And Italian restaurants. And Chinese, Thai, Cambodian and Ethiopian. You see hajibs and turbans and dashikis on the street. You get cab drivers who barely speak English (even if they're Polish or Ukrainian).
While cosmopolitan liberals see this as a GOOD thing, expanding the diversity and strength and vibrancy of what "America" is, a small contingent of illiberal whites (who mostly grew up in monochromatic insular provincial surroundings) find this threatening.
Street protests, street clashes, marching with picket signs and torches is not going to bridge this divide. I'm not sure how you educate these people. Like religion, these are not views gained by thoughtful reflection and thus open to change by reasoned argument.
It's comforting to think about establishing a White Homeland in the
farmlands or
Southern States inside the United States and forcing all like-minded individuals to move there, to stew in their own juices, learning first-hand what low-education, high unemployment, xenophobia, laziness and cowardice provide to sustain them. But it wouldn't solve the problem and it wouldn't prevent envious people from blaming others for their lack of success.
