| Trump cannot "jump the shark" -- Trump IS a shark.
And Cruz dropped out of the race tonight, so there. |

| I have no idea if I'm shocked or not. He such a bad guy but he's in the right party for it. |

| Now that the Zodiac Killer has dropped out, I expect Kasich to wave bye bye any day now.

| Kasich will be staying in, as the "Anti-Trump". He hopes for a brokered convention or a VP slot.
A brokered convention is increasingly unlikely (and risky) but there's always the chance that some sniper will take out Trump. |

| The chances for a brokered convention disappeared with Cruz.
Then again, a gunshot gave Humphrey the nomination in 1968.

| I did not see it at all. Damn.
I guess this means all downticket races are open for grabs, and the Senate will be switching allegiances. |

| If the rational voters come out it large numbers, there is a very good chance of the Democrats taking back the Senate and picking up some seats in the House.
Unfortunately, I don't expect the left to participate fully. Hillary doesn't generate much enthusiasm.

Women, minorities, immigrants and educated voters might disagree. |

| SOME. SOME might disagree. In my house, two of your three groups are represented, and there is no enthusiasm.

| Hillary's people presumably will make it clear to the electorate that not voting is the same as voting for Drumpf. |

| Exactly. A lot of people who vote for Hillary will be doing it just to vote against Trump. Favorability polls show Clinton is not well liked, and her numbers are increasingly negative. Hardly the indicator of a candidate who call drum up much enthusiasm.
The people who typically vote Democratic do not, in general, go to the polls to vote against someone. Republican voters, on the other hand, do that as a matter of course. |

| It remains an open question, I think, how many voters will -- or can -- switch parties to vote against someone.
Possibly/probably a lot of Republicans will simply stay home in November. Which accomplishes the same thing. |

| Clinton has 1683 earned delegates, Bernie has 1362.
Clinton has 522 super delegates, Bernie has 39.
There are 1159 more delegates up for grabs in the remaining states, many of them favorable to Sanders. This thing really isn't settled yet. |

| Not settled yet? Well, Sanders needs to get about eighty-five percent of the remaining delegates, unless he can steal some super delegates from Clinton.

| I've already stated my belief that it's unlikely.
But by no means is it unthinkable. If Sanders does well in West Virginia May 10th (as seems possible), and Washington May 24th (as he is expected) and Oregon May 17th (as he is expected) and California June 7th (which is entirely possible) he could go into the convention with more elected delegates than Clinton, more votes than Clinton -- and that would be a pretty good trigger for the super delegates to switch their allegiance. |

| The super delegates are working for the party. They don't care who has the most elected delegates or how many votes they got. Remember 1968.

| Time will tell.
Trump is a pretty easy target.
Clinton's not much better. |

| I stumbled across the actual Trump website. Naturally, there was a way to make donations. I tried, but my donation to his campaign was rejected. The minimum they would accept is one dollar. My three cents was not good enough for them. Fucking elitist bastard! |
