1/28 Republican Debate Empty

I had to turn if off after five minutes. Two or three candidates said they would go after ISIS with the full force of the American military, and the moderator did not say, "How?"

This is not a debate -- it's a shared stump speech.

And the other thing I cannot fathom, the news reports the next day weren't filled with apoplectic commentary about how the Republican candidates are all so removed from reality, how they misrepresented the state of the country and world, how their "plans" represented little more than platitudes and lip service without any substance or acknowledgment that what they were proposing was preposterous and impossible.

Only some relatively tame fact-checking.
