1/14 Republican Debate

Astonishing, really.  The candidates sound like city council candidates, not candidates for a national office.  Misinformation, nut job statements, nonsensical statements, non sequiturs, personal attacks, petty squabbling, poor speaking technique, yadda yadda yadda.

The moderators should have cut some mics.

Mrs NoCo said they need electrodes attached to them. Time's up? Zap.

I was watching that debate and really enjoying it. Then I realized that I had the wrong channel and I was watching Johnny Knoxville's Jackass movie. Hard to tell them apart.

The comments about Obama "gutting" the military are absolute horseshit. At the end of the Clinton administration, all major military units were at 100% readiness. By the end of the Bush administration, not one major army or marine unit was at 100%. And now? They are all back at 100% ready. Bush also arranged for the VA budget to be cut in 2009 and 2010, obviously hoping to avoid taking the credit, and also timing the cuts to coincide with lots of troops returning home in need of VA services. Obama has done some cutting too, but he was stuck with the deficits Bush created. The current crop of Republicans are just as much hypocritical liars as the coward W.

No shit.

Blaming Obama for the worst congress in history is another appalling tactic. I hope whoever the Dems nominate has the balls to call them out on it and put the blame where it belongs.
