On the other hand Scorcese's tribute to "the quiet Beatle" is masterful. Composed of historical photos and footage, overlaid with period and contemporary interviews (but no voice-over narration), it tells the chronological story of Harrison's journey from teddy boy to overlooked Beatle to solo artist, film producer, race car driver and philanthopist. It's masterful, balanced, informative, surprising, and doesn't seem anywhere near its 3-1/2 hour run time. The editing (by David Tedeschi) is a study in creating a coherent narrative from disparate elements.
