Watched most of this 1949 movie on TCM a couple days ago.

* the dog in the movie was "Bill" / "Duke", not Lassie (although played by Pal, the same dog that played Lassie)
* the dog in the movie was male (Lassie was female... although played by a male dog)
* this was Elizabeth Taylor's first starring role
* the dog in the movie goes to war, and comes back with PTSD
* the storyline has zero to do with the previous two Lassie movies
Odd bit of marketing in that title.
