Movie: Trainwreck: Woodstock '99 Empty

Netflix 3-part series on the attempt, on the 30-year anniversary, to hold another Woodstock in upstate New York and to make money this time. The tickets were $150 each, the music was marketed relentlessly, people who could not attend could pay $60 for a pay-per-view.

Also, since this was a money-making venture, everybody's food & water were confiscated at the gates, forcing them to buy everything from the approved vendor's tents which were ludicrously overpriced.

Also, since this was a money-making venture, they provided about 25 porta-potties for 250,000 people, and didn't service them.

Also, since this was a money-making venture, they provided a couple dozen college kids with yellow tee-shirts, gave them $500, and told them they were "security."

Also, since this was a money-making venture, there was no garbage pickup. All the food & water was sold in non-recyclable plastic containers.

Also, since this was a money-making venture, the medical tent was wholly inadequately staffed and supplied.

Also, since this was a money-making venture, there was no shade provided. The festival wasn't held in an open grassy field, it was held on a de-commissioned military base -- with asphalt.

Also, this being the 1990s, the music acts were not "peace love drugs" but were hard rock, aggressive rock, testosterone rock (whatever you want to call it). Instead of keeping the crowds calm, they intentionally riled them up against the very festival they were attending.

Also, this being the 199os, the drugs available everywhere weren't marijuana and LSD, they were much harder and more dangerous.

But the organizers made money.
