I like it when I come up with a clever (at least I think it's clever) solution to a problem.
Problem: I was having trouble finding the hole to plug in my headphones, when swapping between speakers and headphones on my computer (for digital editing). The powered speakers I use, which have a headphone jack, sit right next to the screen. The screen is light. The speakers are black. The headphone jack is black.
That made it hard to find the hole.
Solution: "Wite-Out"
. Drew a ring around the jack with white paint, now it stands out on the speaker face.
Cost: $0
Ease: Very
Solution: Total
This is another case where product designers missed the boat on a very simple (and ubiquitous!) needed design improvement.
