We Are Improved by a Belief in Dog

I watched a Netflix special on vets with PTSD getting service dogs to help them adjust and trust. How the dogs provide steadfast unconditional love without judgment, a calming influence, a loyalty the vets last had in their military units.

Donald Trump is the first president in 140 years to not have a pet in the White House.

Fundamentalist Muslims generally do not believe dogs make good pets, instead thinking of them as dirty and impure.

Studies have found that programs in prisons, using inmates to train service dogs, have the highest success rate of any prison rehabilitation programs.

What do these things have in common? A dog is closer to the divine than any human, and by associating with them we become better people.

To me, that's a disqualifier. You can do it like Obama did it, but if you don't like dogs (or at least cats) you just aren't American.

Even Jefferson kept pets - ferrets.
The story is that he died from infections caused by the ferrets' bites (he slept with them).
I suggest the black mamba for Trump's sleep-in pets.
