One of the things she mentioned -- which I hadn't really thought about, but it's absolutely true -- is that Dick Cheney is largely responsible for the demotion of the Justice Department and the FBI and federal law enforcement in general. Previous to 9/11, they ruled their domains with independence, without interference by Congress and the Executive.

The sweeping reforms he put in place, after 9/11, made them subservient to the president's wishes. Made them pawns of political policy. Made them a tool, to be used for the president's advantage if he so desired.

In other words, Cheney's view of an absolutely unchecked Executive Branch.

I really like Rachel. She is an excellent interviewer, she lets people talk and she asks what I would, which is cool.
