You know how the bible is divided up into books and chapters and verses, so somebody can say "Galacians 11:15-18" and you can go right to the sentence referenced? Has any other book ever been indexed to this level?

You need to look for a work that is an agglomeration of different books written (possibly by different authors) at different times. The only one that springs to mind is the complete works of Shakespeare.
