Halfway through (I got interrupted to go shopping). So far it's pretty obvious stuff -- educate girls and they contribute to society. Provide contraception and women will space out their pregnancies, resulting in healthier offspring. Lots of stories of poor women making differences when given a chance.
Disappointed so far in Melinda not taking on the Catholic Church more directly over contraception, or Islam over female circumcision and lack of education. Religion promotes the second-class status of girls, and needs to be called out. Of course she's just being circumspect, but you can't have it both ways -- religion is either evil or it isn't.
