News Sources?

Got any good recommendations for fair and balanced news sources?

Our local ABC affiliate has been purchased by Sinclair Broadcasting and now it’s all fluff news and Republican propaganda.

NBC and CBS are okay but the nonstop pharma ads drive me crazy.

CNN seems pretty good I guess. As does Huffington Post, most of the time.

I watch MSNBC but they do tend to get their teeth into one story and don’t let it go, or report anything else, for weeks.

With the swing to the right of most media outlets I have given a second look to such left-wing outlets as Democracy Now and the Hightower Lowdown, but they seem awfully shrill.  Not balanced at all.

Looking for recommendations.  Particularly anything I can pick up with Alexa.

Include some foreign input. The Times, the Guardian, the BBC. Maybe Le Figaro. Der Spiegel.

Even though it's not my preference, Mrs NoCo likes the on-air personalities so we often watch Channel 4 local news with dinner.

So it was with CONSIDERABLE surprise this evening -- we both sat up and said, "Wha?" -- when the male news anchor mentioned "My husband and I...."

Geez. He's never mentioned having a husband before. Hope he still has a job tomorrow.

Al Jazeera isn't bad either.

I've been trying to consume a variety of international news, including the suggestions above.

The PROBLEM is, the news seems to be shootings, wars, missing people, bodies found, fatal crashes, and athletes testing positive for controlled substances.  And record heat everywhere in the fucking world.

What I'd give for some good news.
