Books: Earl Emerson

Friend of mine mentioned liking this author, who writes crime novels based in & around Seattle using lots of local geography and folklore.

So I bought a couple, and am halfway through the first one.

When I mentioned this to my friend, in line at the swimming pool this morning, the woman in front of us turned around and said, "My husband used to work with Earl Emerson."

Small world.

My parents used to know Ernest Gann, writer of south sea island fiction. I found his stuff turgid though. My BIL's mother knows Jean Auel. Talk about turgid!

Most of the way through the second book.

This stuff is like cotton candy -- light, airy, fluffy, compulsive, delicious. But you feel guilty afterward.
