As soon as somebody invents something convenient, crooks figure out a way to pervert it. Now, since some of the newer stuff is being stopped, they're heading back to their old perversions.

If I somehow get caught by one of these schemes, it would be a matter of minutes before my computer was back in a safe state.

I can't understand why people who use computers in business will fall for this kind of crap. If you have the abilities to get hired for a position which included the operation of vulnerable computers, then I would expect you to have the skills - and common sense - to avoid these hazards. If your business has an IT department, then they should have in place procedures to minimize or eliminate damage from this shit. If they don't, then they are incompetent and should be replaced.

For we individual users, this is another example of why paranoia is our friend.
