The article says "agnostic president" but I think that's wishy-washy poppycock.  If Sanders doesn't believe in god he's an atheist.

This might be more of a detriment to getting elected than his being a socialist.

Well, he's Jewish, so that may skate by. A lot of Jews are culturally Jewish but actually atheist, he's not unusual in that respect.
