My opinions do change over the years. When I first started out on the internet twelve years ago I called myself a socialist at times, I even joined a socialist webring at one time. Do you remember webrings? Do they still exist? It is vitally important that I get stuck into my website and hack away those bits which are now nothing but an embarrassment. My views have changed quite substantially. I have become aware of who I really am, I have developed a class consciousness you might say, I have recognized that the leftist I had tried to be for so long had nothing in common with the real me. I am not a state employee. I am not a teacher. My bread is not buttered on that side, and it never has been. So why have I been spouting political crap as if I was a teacher? It never has been in my interests or the wider interest of the country to support a bigger and bigger interventionist state. Under the guise of teaching me to think and giving me analytical tools with which to think I have actually been brainwashed for years and taught what to think to support the interests of other people. I had been taught to cheer when leftists insult people like my own parents and grandparents. It is not going to happen again. They didn’t recruit me into the sneering classes, the sneering professions or the party of the sneering classes.

If they think I am going to sneer with them at peasants and rednecks and Daily Mail readers they had better think again. I come from peasant stock. I come from generations of conservative voting Church of England attending patriotic Daily Mail readers. Both my grandfathers shot game for the pot. I will not let some lefty Marxist scumbags piss on my family’s heritage and aspirations and pretend I’m enjoying their in-joke. I will never sneer again at people with aspirations to do better for themselves or their family, even if they are white and read the Daily Mail or like to shoot at animals and birds not raised by gamekeepers. I am also not going to take the label Little Englander as some kind of an insult. I am proud of my country and I see no good reason at all why the things it stands for should be pissed away in pursuit of some internationalist Marxist experiment as fast as humanly possible.

Has the time come to say that I have become a conservative? I don’t think I am quite ready for that label yet. But I do find it quite flabbergasting that the idea that somebody might support the largest and most popular political party in the country for the last 150 years and be regarded as somehow abnormal, shocking or their actions be in need of some explanation. The culture I have been swimming in for years is half blind, it barely acknowledges the existence of any political views on the right side of centre, people identified as supporters of the leader of the Conservative Party are seen to be shamed. Our culture is sick, we need to redress the balance of left wing musicians, actors, journalists and comedians who have succeeded in making the views of the majority of the British public seem to be extreme right wing and unforgivable. I intend to do my bit.

Sadly, it appears the MW has found his place with his new forum. I looked at it some time back and found it to be nothing more than a place to spout far-right, bigoted rants. Very sad.

Of course, in England maybe it is commendable to resort to that rhetoric in order to uphold the illustrious heritage of a mattress salesman.

I'm not sad that he found his place.  I'm not sad that his political views continue to evolve.

What saddens me is the vitriol he feels obligated to throw at his former positions and compatriots: "crap," "sneering class," "scumbags," etc.  He is not at peace with himself.  There is a lot of self loathing there.

You are being much kinder to him that I could ever be. I don't see an evolution of his political views; I see a plummet into the commonplace angry working man who chooses to blame all of his problems - real and imagined - on groups he perceives to be weaker than himself, rather than giving it serious, unbiased, unemotional consideration and discover who the real culprits are.

It is the easy path to take, and one that is without merit and undeserving of sympathy.
