Very interesting video...but...

Here is the concave image.


The material is translucent, allowing you to see the shadows of the convex image produced by the back lighting. I doubt that the effect would be maintained if the material was opaque or if only front lighting was used. Still very clever.

That's not quite true Howard. The illusion is less seamless but it's still there.

This one is pretty good too, especially when he starts from the back side and slowly rotates towards the hollow side. At first, you can see that it's the hollow side, but as you get to the "full-face" position, it sort of pops out and you can't see it anymore.

This one's pretty wild too.

The dancers are a hoot.

It would be nice to see the faces in real life to see how they appeared. Remember that we are looking at a 2D image; we never see the three dimensions on either side.
