An autobiography by one of the greatest soccer players ever, Megan Rapinoe. That she lives and plays in Seattle, and is married to Seattle's star basketball player Sue Bird, make this more than a sports bio for me.
Megan is also outspoken. She was the first NWSF player to come out as gay, which she says is "hilarious given the number of gays on the team." In 2016 she ignited a firestorm (and nearly immolated her career) by taking a knee during the national anthem in support of Colin Kaepernick.
She is in short my kind of gal: smart, opinionated, talented and unapologetic. I'm looking forward to a stimulating read.
