What has happened to peoples' critical thinking?

Take this video. There are at least four clues that is is fake.

They don't really teach that in school anymore.
Those of us who think critically are often ridiculed for it in one way or another.
That's a good recipe for getting rid of it, after all our corporate overlords don't want to have to answer questions, do they?
