For some reason recently I've been on a kick of British movies released right around 1969. It started when I found a used copy of "La Vallee" with music by Pink Floyd ("Obscured by Clouds"). That led to "More" also by Barbet Schroeder also with music by Pink Floyd. These add to other period movies in my collection: "Blow Up," "Morgan," "Performance," "Zabriskie Point," "Easy Rider," "Five Easy Pieces," "King of Marvin Gardens," "Carnal Knowledge," "Harold and Maude" and others.
There's something about the cinema of that period -- unpretentious, experimental, positive outlook, excellent music -- that I don't think any other period rivaled.
