The Assault on Reality Continues

The types of programs described in the article are why I have watched the Discovery Channel almost not at all for several years. Very disappointing.

And yet these have been their highest-rated programs ever.

Remember years ago when The Learning Channel had good programming? Then they changed to shit programs.

A&E just cancelled their second-highest rated program (and their highest rated scripted program ever) because the viewers were too old. The only demographic that matters is 18-34. Apparently Discovery Channel has discovered that.

With fake news shows (both left and right) dominating news ratings, and now fake science programs dominating science ratings, the boob tube has become a tool for evil owned by advertisers. This won't end well -- as Jefferson predicted.

The Food Network has gone down the drain too. That knob Guy whats his face has just taken it right down the shitter and the execs let him, I guess.

It's a race to the bottom. Is it any wonder we elect Republicans?

I'm forever disappointed to read the titles of YouTube videos suggested alongside whatever I'm reading. I can tell many of the videos are straight-out fabrications, lies, falsehoods. For instance one this morning was titled "Ron White's Cause of Death Finally Revealed."

I thought, wait -- did Ron White die? I hadn't heard that.

Popped over to Wikipedia and nope, still very much alive.

Disinformation, lies, a fungible reality... whatever you call it, a functional democracy cannot exist without an ACCURATELY informed populace, and today nobody trusts the media. Or they shouldn't. Which is pure evil.
