I don't think it's very creative at all, but editing all the references together does make an amusing video.

Not that there *are* any.

Season Six of OITNB was posted to Netlfix Thursday. Last season, Five, was disappointing because they spent basically the whole season working one storyline, a prison riot in Litchfield. It didn't sustain.

This season -- watched 4 episodes so far -- deals with the aftermath of the riot and is much better. Almost all the cast is back, with a few newcomers who are pretty great characterizations.

Finished season six.  It appears to be the end of it (the main character, Piper Kerman, the author of the book, gets early release from prison).  Last season was back up to the level of seasons 1-4, with multiple storylines interweaving and intersecting.  Good writing.

I miss Boo.

Season 7 was posted yesterday, listed in the credits as the Final Season.  Made it thru four episodes last night before bedtime.  More EXCELLENT writing & acting.  Piper is now on the outside, trying to rebuild her life after prison while simultaneously keeping a long distance relationship with her wife, who's still inside.  She's finding that nobody wants to hire a felon, or be associated with one.  Her dad has disowned her.  Her self-esteem is even more battered than when she was behind bars.

Meanwhile Litchfield continues to evolve under the stewardship of the "for-profit" corporation that took 'em over.  Everything is dollars-and-cents.  Cost-cutting measures make everybody miserable.  The prison administrator -- whom everybody hates -- hires one of the least-experienced guards to be the new warden.  She's a 26-year olf black woman, so they got a huge "diversity bonus" for hiring her.  

This woman takes the macho, sexualized culture of the male guards and makes it her mission to break it.

This is going to be a good storyline.

Incidentally, there is an associated prison just up the hill from Litchfield, formerly a max security prison, now used under contract from ICE to house illegal immigrants.  They're kept in chainlink cages, given aluminum "space blankets," and treated horribly.  Two former Litchfield residents get caught up in an ICE raid because, although they're American citizens, they didn't have their citizenship papers on them at the dance club.

Right out of the headlines.
