| With the release of the Nunes memo -- against all advice -- it is apparent Trump is laying the groundwork for the removal of Rosenstein and/or Mueller, neither one of which would derail the Russia collusion investigation but either one of which would trigger a constitutional crisis leading to Trump's removal from office.
Here's how, and why, I see it happening.
First, Trump in his infinite wisdom (infinite as in "not measurable") will remove Rosenstein and/or Mueller. Both are within his power, and both have been telegraphed as things he wants to do. He won't be able to help himself. Nobody says no to The Donald.
This will trigger a Congressional impeachment, primarily from Democrats but joined by enough Republicans (particularly those who have already announced their retirements, which now number 41) to pass the House impeachment vote (simple majority of 218 required, 193 Democrats + 25 lame duck Republicans). It will then go to the Senate, where a 2/3 majority is required to find Trump guilty.
They don't have the votes for that, won't after the 2018 midterms, won't until 2020.
But the very fact that an impeachment action goes before the Senate will give Trump reason enough to step down. He wants to step down. He's tired of being president. He never wanted to be president in the first place.
He will negotiate with Senate Republicans to allow him to step down without the indignity of a vote on impeachment -- and the Senate will get what it's always wanted all along anyway, Mike Pence as the new president. Trump will attempt to include in his exit package the dropping of all charges being considered or brought by Mueller, and he will attempt to pardon everyone who has been charged with anything on his way out the door.
It remains to be seen how successful those will be.
I predict all this will happen between April and July 2018. |

| I think you are giving the Republicans too much credit. I don't believe that there is one Republican in the House who will vote for articles of impeachment.

| "Memo shoes"
- Carter Page was under FISA investigation as a Russian spy long before the Steele dossier, long before he joined the Trump campaign
- The Steele dossier has not been "debunked." If anything, the more salacious accusations contained therein keep getting corroborated
- Steele and Ohr had an "ongoing relationship" because Steele had provided "credible intelligence" to the Bureau many times in the past
- Fusion GPS was founded in 2011 by a Wall Street Journal investigative reporter and provided campaign research on Mitt Romney, opponents of Planned Parenthood, and a Russian rail magnate closely tied to Putin
- Reporting Trump's ties to Russian organized crime and money laundering is not the same as "having an anti-Trump bias." As Bill Maher said on his show, "That's like accusing the exterminator of having an anti-insect bias."
- Bruce Ohr's wife worked for Fusion GPS, which Nunes claims is evidence of bias. Jesus, has anyone complained of Ginny Thomas working at The Heritage Foundation?

| I try to get some diversity in my news sourcing. I WANT to believe there's a palpable "truth" somewhere out there between the two extremes. |

| The two extremes are truth and fiction. Take your pick.

| I believed that before the 2016 election, when MSNBC reported a 92% chance of Hillary winning. |

| You can't get past that, can you? They didn't make this shit up at MSNBC. MSNBC - and other channels - reported on the results of polls conducted by various entities. Blame the pollsters - they are the one who came up with the numbers and predictions.

| Blame the Republicans for fixing the election. That's what really happened. |
