Late to the game, February 9th Apple releases their answer to the Google Home and Amazon Echo. At $350 it's 3½ times their price, with essentially the same functionality although there's certainly an installed Apple userbase who will buy anything Apple.
I'm still waiting for that "super app" that makes me consider buying a smartspeaker.

Those are devices that I file under "Silly Tech" (or "TechDreck").
I can't imagine a useful purpose for those things.
