| In 1977, NASA launched the Voyager 1 probe, which carried a gold-plated copper disc engraved with sounds and music from around the world, including a two-minute, 38-second recording of Chuck Berry performing Johnny B Goode. A four-word response from space was received in short time and was decoded. The message was printed on the cover of Time Magazine.  |

| Yeah, it's an old joke.
It's kinda a dick move to use an obit notice to talk about how much you DIDN'T LIKE somebody, so I'll refrain. But over on my music board somebody posted an obit for Berni Wrightson -- and I had to look him up. |

| When Chuck Berry was shaking up the rock music industry, you were still in diapers. Perhaps the fact that you missed his early career is part of the reason that you never developed a liking for his music. |
