There's a mentally-ill person here in Seattle who is undergoing a murder trial. His attorney does not dispute that he was the shooter, but is arguing that his client needs treatment rather than punishment.
Seems to me, the taxpayers are being taken for a ride. Why is there a trial at all, if he admits guilt?
He should've been committed to a mental hospital for life without delay.
