This would set a bengal tiger loose in the aviary if it panned out. It probably won't, but what if...

As much as I enjoy reading articles such as this, I also tend to take them with a grain of salt.

They find unusual readings and then imagine what could be causing those readings. No doubt, they will be correct occasionally, but for the most part they are just trying to fit something in to the existing literature. Remember string theory? Laughable.

When will these people consider that some of the accepted science may be wrong? Dark matter and dark energy are examples of creating something out of nothing in order to preserve the current science. I don't believe Einstein had everything right, and much of the current science is based on the supposed infallibility of his theories.

Quote :
The efforts that led to this potential discovery began back in 2015, when the UCI team came across a study from a group of experimental nuclear physicists from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Institute for Nuclear Research. At the time, these physicists were looking into a radioactive decay anomaly that hinted at the existence of a light particle that was 30 times heavier than an electron.

In a paper describing their research, lead researcher Attila Krasznahorka and his colleagues claimed that what they were observing might be the creation of “dark photons”. In short, they believed that they might have at last found evidence of Dark Matter, the mysterious, invisible mass that makes up about 85% of the Universe’s mass.
Someone should clue the article writer into the dual meanings of the word "light."
