50 Dead in Orlando Night Club Shooting

Worst mass shooting in US history.

What a world.

Yikes, it was a gay nightclub. And the shooter has an Islamic name. Not good.

Holy shit.  There was a uniformed off-duty police officer in the club "providing security" and the Orlando Police waited THREE HOURS to rush the shooter.

This does not reflect well.

Shooter used several guns, among them an AR-15 assault rifle with several high capacity clips.  

These guns are legal in Florida.

For now.

Gov. Rick Scott just declared a state of emergency.  WTF is up with that?  The shooter was killed.

Jesus Christ the politicians are stupid.

Declaring a state of emergency changes some things (legally). It probably also allows him to call on federal aid (money) and/or FEMA if the state needs it. Given that the Republicans have screwed up the state budget to the extent that they can't even spray for mosquitoes, that's probably true.

I expect his next step will be to permanently close all gay bars.

I'm waiting for the NRA spin: "If everyone in that club had been carrying a gun, this wouldn't have happened."

It goes so much further than just that one bill - or the countless similar others the GOP have rejected. Even allowing the manufacture and marketing of weapons which have the sole purpose of killing people is absurd.
