I'm kind of attracted to this. I don't feel attachment to any particular place for my ashes to be scattered, but the idea of turning me into a tree sounds pretty cool.

Meh.  Once you're cremated and urned, you have essentially no nutrients left to contribute to a tree.

Better option would be natural burial with seeds planted.

Barring that -- since the legality requires some hoop jumping -- you can just spread somebody's ashes over a forest floor.

The Tibetans had it right.
