Sounds like the PTB* have decided that the way to keep Trump from running away with the GOP nomination is to hit him in the financial irregularities department.

It'll be interesting to see if this does the trick.

Trump's whole financial history is fairly amusing, as far as I can see. The bottom line is that he is actually not very successful, given what he started with. The ultimate put-down was a guy who noted that he inherited a fair amount of real estate, in the form of buildings with tenants. Calculating what Trump would currently be worth if he did nothing much more than sit back and collect rent, effectively, the answer came out to be <drum roll> about the same as what he is worth now. Dynamic performance, yes?

Trump's early worth is difficult to define. He ran his father's business for about six or eight years before the old man croaked. At that time, many estimate Trump's worth at about two hundred million. If he had just put that in an index fund and went on vacation, his current net worth would be just about where it is now.

If he was any kind of super business man, he would be worth much more than he claims (which is widely regarded to be a huge exaggeration.).
