Movie: Love Actually Empty
PostSubject: Movie: Love Actually   Movie: Love Actually EmptyWed Jan 13, 2016 8:40 am

I saw a copy of this movie at the local Goodwill for $3, and when I read recently in the credits to "Congo" that Laura Linney was in "Love Actually," I decided I needed to check it out.

It has a cast of thousands.  Well, three dozen.  There are ten interlinked love stories, each involving 2-3 people.  It's like "Crash" for lite romantic comedy.

Some of the stories are more successful than others.  A few are pretty bad.  But enough are good, and surprising, and entertaining to overall win the movie a positive rating in my book.

There's a lot of good needle-drop music in the film, and excellent cinematography.

It'll take a few more viewings to understand how each of these characters relates to all the others, but the movie is dense enough and meaty enough to reward repeated viewings.  That's my criterium for "a good movie."
