QR Codes Empty
PostSubject: QR Codes    QR Codes EmptyTue Jan 05, 2016 7:34 pm

I recently bought a Google Cardboard viewer for viewing 3D scenes and movies on my iPhone.  It was cheap and I thought it might be fun to see what iPhone software is available.

The side of the viewer has some codes to link to apps, and demos, and instructions.  I have used these code squares before (most recently for my e-ticket to the movie today) but to read these links on the viewer, I needed a code reader app.

To find the code reader app, I needed to know the name of the codes.

To find the name of the codes, I needed to be able to look them up.

To look them up, I needed to be able to search on an image -- without triggering the link itself.

An interesting case of Catch-22.

I looked around online, and tried to find an example on Google, and tried to figure this out on my own.  I felt so Luddite.  I got nowhere trying to find the name.

Finally I asked a friend of mine.  Human help.  Unbearable.  Gosh that felt like something out of the Dark Ages.  Turns out they're called "Quick Response Codes" or QR codes, and they originated with the automotive industry.

Now I have a reader and can explore the offerings for this 3D viewer.
