We went out to a matinee yesterday to see the new Robert De Niro/Jennifer Lawrence movie about Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop.
It wasn't what I expected.
It was alternately sad, and a Hallmark movie, and frustrating, and tedious. The acting was good, but there weren't any moments of grace in the movie: no epiphanies, no wonder, no stopping to take stock. It was just a relentlessly slow slog to success for a beleaguered inventor. Not very inspiring. Not very motivating.
Not very good.
