Late Marriage Empty
PostSubject: Late Marriage   Late Marriage EmptySat Sep 12, 2015 6:44 am

A friend of my wife's is getting married today, it's her first marriage and she's 57 years old.

Another friend of hers got married about ten years ago, at 47, and she's still happily married.

It's a funny world.

Best moment of the ceremony -- the bride had to call for her reading glasses to read her vows.

It was an outdoor wedding -- gutsy in Seattle in September -- but she had absolutely perfect weather, not a cloud in the sky, light breeze, high 70s.   The park offered tailored lawns overlooking Puget Sound, with the Cascades in the background. Stunning. The next day, Sunday, it rained, hard and continuously.

She had guests from all over the country, all over the world actually (her new husband is Egyptian).  Kristy has worked several interesting jobs in her long career and the wedding brought co-workers together who hadn't seen each other in decades.  We sat with a table of Burlington-Northern vets who worked together thirty years ago.
